The Umhlanga Sands has the distinction of being the first timeshare project launched in South Africa in 1982 and comprises 237 four and six sleeper apartments housed in a seventeen storey gleaming white complex on Umhlanga\’s main swimming beach.

The project prides itself in its complete family holiday package with full entertainment being offered for both young and the old. The Umhlanga Sands latest refurbishment was completed in 2012 which covered bathrooms, soft furnishings, flat screen tv\’s throughout, internet connections in all rooms etc. There are number of restaurants in the building which also offer room service throughout the day and night. Two swimming pools, one for adults and the other for the family together with a volleyball court, games room and also an evening action bar with live entertainment, all contribute toward an exciting family holiday.

Over the years, the ownership of a unit in the Umhlanga Sands has proved to be an excellent investment with units initially being offered from as little as R1000 out of season to R15000 in season which are now being resold at R140000 plus per week in late December. The Umhlanga Sands offers excellent timeshare points against weeks owned and the quality of the resort has always offered owners an excellent return whether they are renting their unit, exchanging or reselling.
